The Japan Integrated Shiatsu Association aims to train shiatsu practitioners who can play an active role within the new framework of integrative medicine. By bringing together the once-divided lineages of Tokujirō Namikoshi’s Shiatsu and Shizuto Masunaga’s Meridian Shiatsu, the association returns to the Japanese origin of healing through “teate” — the act of healing with the hands — while integrating the latest scientific knowledge from neuroscience, neurology, and fascia research. We are dedicated to exploring and promoting “Integrated Shiatsu,” a practice that connects tradition with innovation.
